Warranty Length

• New computer systems include a 1 year (365 day) in-store hardware warranty.

• Used/refurbished computer systems include a 90 day in-store hardware warranty.

• New computer components include a 90 day warranty, unless otherwise specified.

• Used/refurbished computer components include a 30 day warranty, unless otherwise specified.

• Computer repairs involving hardware replacement include a 90 day in-store labor warranty.

• Computer repairs not involving hardware replacement involve a 30 day in-store labor warranty.

“Computer Component” includes any part, component, accessory, or peripheral sold by Big Byte Computers that is not a complete computer system. Computer hardware or system warranty begins on the date it is made ready for pickup. Labor warranty begins on date the hardware or system is received by the customer.

Computer System Warranty

If a piece of hardware within the new or used computer system is found to be defective, Big Byte Computers will repair or replace that part within the system's warranty period. The replaced part may be new or used, of equal or greater performance of the original part. If a replacement part is no longer available, Big Byte Computers will substitute a compatible part or offer a suitable replacement. After repairs are complete, the system will retain its original warranty period. Warranty repair is performed in-store only. On-site or remote repair may be available at additional cost. The warranty will not be extended or renewed unless authorized by Big Byte Computers.

The computer system warranty does not cover the following:

• Cracked, worn, bent, dented, scratched, or abused casings or plastics

• Cracked, scratched, or dented screens

• Loose, broken, or damaged hinges

• Loose, broken, or damaged power jacks

• Broken or damaged ports (such as USB, PS/2, VGA, etc.)

• Missing, broken, or worn keyboard keys

• Damage to any components caused by dropping, damage, or abuse

• Damage to any components caused by excessive dust, dirt, or tobacco build-up

• Damage to any components caused by spilled liquids or water damage

• Damage to any components caused by customer-installed hardware or by the installation of hardware

• Any software problem, such as corrupted or problematic programs, drivers, or settings

• Software, devices, peripherals, accessories, drivers, or files that were added to the computer

• Virus, spyware, malware, or other type of software infection

• Hardware that has been removed from the computer

• Shipping costs of your hardware or components to or from Big Byte Computers

Computer Component Warranty

If an individual component, part, accessory, or peripheral purchased individually (not included in a new or used system) is found to be defective, Big Byte Computers will repair or replace that component within its warranty period. The replaced part may be new or used, of equal or greater performance of the original part. If a replacement part is no longer available, Big Byte Computers can provide a refund in the form of store credit. After repairs are complete, the system will retain its original warranty period. The warranty will not be extended or renewed unless authorized by Big Byte Computers.

Labor Warranty

If work was completed on a computer system that did not solve the original problem stated on the Repair Ticket when the computer was brought in for repair, Big Byte Computers will solve the issue at no cost. The labor warranty does not cover any additional parts that may be needed to solve the problem. The labor warranty does not cover problems that appear from the fixing of another problem. The labor warranty does not cover problems that were not stated on the original Repair Ticket. If the labor included infection removal, the labor warranty only covers the original infection. Warranty repair is performed in-store only. On-site or remote repair may be available at additional cost.

Warranty Replacement Time

Repair or replacement time of a warranty job may vary, depending on the availability of the part, manufacturer of the part, and their warranty policies. Warranty repairs on used computer systems and components may take 1-2 weeks for completion. Warranty repairs on new computer systems and components may take 1-6 weeks for completion, depending on the warranty policy of the manufacturer. Big Byte Computers is not responsible for the replacement times of a product under warranty.

Proof of Purchase

A valid receipt or invoice is required for all warranty work.




Returns

New Computer Systems

New pre-built or “off the shelf” computers can be returned within 7 days of the purchase date. A hardware verification must be performed by Big Byte Computers before the return can be processed and refunded. This process can take up to 72 hours to complete, after which a refund can be processed. A new computer cannot be returned if any of the original hardware has been removed, tampered with, or damaged. A 25% restocking fee will apply to all new computer returns. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Buyer must pay all return shipping costs.

New computers that were build-to-order or custom-builds cannot be returned.

New computers purchased or ordered through another manufacturer, such as Dell or HP, cannot be returned.

Used/Refurbished Computer Systems

Used and refurbished computers can be returned to Big Byte Computers within 7 days of the purchase date. A hardware verification must be performed by Big Byte Computers before the return can be processed and refunded. This process can take up to 72 hours to complete, after which a refund can be processed. A used computer cannot be returned if any of the original hardware has been removed, tampered with, or damaged. A 25% restocking fee will apply to used computer returns, unless the item is exchanged for another new or used computer. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Buyer must pay all return shipping costs.

New Computer Components

New parts, components, accessories, or peripherals can be returned within 14 days of the purchase date. For purchases of CPU's, memory, motherboards, hard drives, or video cards, a hardware verification must be performed by Big Byte Computers before the return can be processed and refunded. This process can take up to 72 hours to complete, after which a refund can be processed. A 20% restocking fee applies to all items that require a hardware verification. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Buyer must pay all return shipping costs.

New parts, components, accessories, or peripherals that were special ordered cannot be returned.

Used/Refurbished Computer Components

Used or refurbished parts, components, accessories, or peripherals can be returned within 14 days of the purchase date. Software

New software that is unopened can be returned within 14 days of the purchase date. Opened software cannot be returned or exchanged. Operating systems and office suites from Microsoft cannot be returned or exchanged. A 20% restocking fee may apply to software returns. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Buyer must pay all return shipping costs.

Labor performed cannot be refunded, but may be covered by a warranty. See our Warranty Information for details.

Purchases using a credit or debit card will be refunded to the same card. Card must be present at the time of refund. Purchases using cash will be refunded by cash or check, at the discretion of Big Byte Computers.

An original and valid receipt is required for all returns.
